Bookmark: A saved link to a web page. You can do this in Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator browsers. This saves the URL of the page so you can quickly find it without typing the URL in the command line. See Favorite.
Browser: Software application used to view the internet or World Wide Web.
Command Line:The open space at the top of your internet page that allows you to type in a URL and press go to jump to a web page.
Download: To copy a file from one computer to your local computer. You can download software and documents.
FAQ, or "Frequently Asked Questions.": Pronounced "fack", a FAQ is a document that lists questions and answers about a subject, program or website you are using.

Home or Home Page: The first page of a website or your starting point.
Hyperlink: Text or image that links to another web page or resource. Click on the hyperlink to go there.
Internet: The World Wide Web, which is a giant network of computers.
ISP, or Internet Service Provider. An ISP is a service that provides users with an internet connection.
URL, or Uniform Resource Locator: A standard method of representing services or resources on the Internet. An example is http://www.tals.org
World Wide Web or WWW or Web or W3: The most common way to get to the internet.
